About

Sachin Garg

Hi! I am Sachin Garg and currently based in Mohali, Punjab, India. I’m enthused about digital technologies and the changes they are bringing to the world. Currently, I’m researching the public policy aspects of emerging technologies like Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Big Data.

I hold a PhD in Public Policy from the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University (GMU). My Dissertation titled Essays on Big Data and Development examines the role of Big Data for sustainable development, and how public policies are integral to allowing the creation of Big Data that can be leveraged for human development.

Prior to joining the doctoral program at GMU, I worked for about fifteen years in the Information Technology sector largely with open source and embedded systems. My last stint was with Yahoo! where I was architecting the ad-bidding systems.
